baby hammer

29 year old Mama of the most feisty, beautiful girl in the world - Scarlett Madalena and another one on the way - due August 21. Married to Dominic. We live in inner-city Brisbane and spend our time trying to finish off our dream home, at swimming lessons, walking our chihuahuas and drinking way too much coffee.

I think Bodie will prefer the side board anyway! Hell, I think they look fun but I doubt they’d take my weight! haha I’m seriously considering trying to convince Dom we need to have another bub soon just so I can have the Donkey! haha Apparently you can also use it as a solo pram, Bugaboo have designed it so it can be used as a solo/double/twin pram. Genius! I doubt I’m going to be able to convince him we need one right now sadly when we have a perfectly functional Bee+ AND a Mountain Buggy :(

First pair of skinny jeans!

Serious pram lust…

We don’t even have two kids… yet I’m trying to figure out a way to convince the hubby we NEED this! I’m sure I could fill the space in the meantime with shopping? :)

Where’s my baby gone?

Scarlett spent her first whole night in her cot last night. I have been putting her down for all her daytime naps in her cot, but at night she’s still been sleeping in her bassinet right next to my side of our bed. Last night when we tried to put her down as usual she screamed and screamed. Dom tried for ages to settle her, but no dice. I went in and picked her up and took her into her room. The crying stopped immediately. I put her down in the cot and she looked up at me for a second, then went straight to sleep.

My kid transitioned herself to sleeping in her cot?! We were preparing ourselves for a heartbreaking process of getting her to sleep in her own room and she does it herself out of nowhere?!

Let me tell you, it was Mama who had trouble coping last night not being able to look over at her sleeping beside me.

Scarlett is now 14 weeks going on 14 years old.

Currently listening to Dom read “The Places You’ll Go” to Scarlett before bed! Soooo cute!

stellyandscout asked: Is your last name Hammer? I noticed you have a Stella, our little girl Stellektra is often called Stella. Very cool!

Our last name is Hammersley, but my husband’s nickname was always Hammer so Baby Hammer was born! :) We do have a Stella, she is our trouble-making chihuahua. I absolutely adore the name Stellektra! She’s just gorgeous. Our little girl is Scarlett.

So I’m going back to work on Monday… I can’t believe my maternity leave is almost over! It seems like the last 14 weeks have absolutely flown by and Scarlett is getting so big. I’m absolutely dreading going to work and having to leave her in daycare, but unfortunately we don’t really have much choice. I guess being away from her is just going to make all those moments I do get to spend with her all the more precious…

'Despicable': website blames Christchurch quake on gay community

Seriously, how stupid are the people that write this BS? I love this comment I read about this story:
God attacked New Orleans for the gays but left the French quarter alone and hit the conservative areas. He caused the Victorian bushfires because of gays and hits the country towns instead of the left wing capital of Australia, Melbourne. Now He causes the NZ earthquake over gays and hits a city named CHRISTCHURCH? Does he just have terrible aim or something?”
I know I’d rather my daughter grow up in a world where gays are not only accepted but celebrated and the religious freaks who write this shit are the outcasts.

Our little angel:

Our little devil:

Sidenote - her Daddy picked out this romper in a Parisian boutique during our trip when I was pregnant. I’m so lucky I married a man who not only has great fashion sense but loves shopping! :)

Today I managed to replace my child’s dummy in her rear-facing car seat while driving and talking on my (handsfree) phone at the same time… I think I may be finally qualified for this Mum gig… it’s obviously called learning on the job! :
